Today my cousin was the security in charge of protecting some historical carvings that a group of maori have been trying to restore without the right authority to do so and I had the privilege to c these carvings for myself and visit the place wea it is sed that twin maori boys were kept because tauiwi did not believe in maoritanga and the spirituality our people held (tohungarism)so they labeled them mentally ill and locked them up in the mental asylum here in a inner westrn suburb of sydney. I did a bit of my own research and found some interesting writings on the history and meanings of these carvings dating back to the late 1800s although there are no koru patterns the ratana star is carved into nearly every rock they carved. I love maori history and find myself wanting to learn more about the two young men who carved these rocks and I bet I know sum1who would have some knowledge of them so please e hoa ma if you see her can you pass this on for me id love to hear wat nana has to say
