Today my doctor told me to go to the ER, as yesterday i got a sudden red and painful rash on the tops of my hands and when i woke up this morning they were swollen and painful. Turns out its FROSTBITE. When i got it i hadnt even been outside long. Then i realized how cold Brodys feet must be when i walk her, she already wears her knit sweater and hoodie, i bought water proof socks but they fall off. The second i got out of the ER i went right over to Bensons and spent $60 on the best protective snow shoes they had for dogs. I love my dog, she is family and id do ANYTHING for her and her well being. ANIMALS FEEL COLD JUST AS HUMANS DO, JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE FUR DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE FINE IN SUB ZERO WEATHER. Their feet can get frostbite just like us, please pet owners, dont let your animals out in this weather AT ALL unless they are protected with a jacket and protective boots. For people with a high energy dog, like Brody, they do need more walks then a medium energy dog but in this weather they should not be out for too long, so there are many types of things to help drain your hyper dogs energy INSIDE. I will find the link and post it below. There should be no reason any animal should be left out in this weather.... and if you think there is one, or think your poor dog or cat are fine outside in this weather, sorry but you should not have animals.... and may need to get your head checked. #BringThemIn
