Today my eldest son Zion is 13. No longer a child on his journey to becoming a man. I celebrate this day and mourn at the same time. The years go by so fast. The time to train and teach him is becoming shorter and shorter. Have I prepared him enough? Is he equipped to face life on his own. Can he possibly have the tools he needs to make right decisions? My hearts leaps to see who he has become these past 13 years and yet grieves that my mommy moments are fewer now. He will soon begin to stretch his wings and …. I rest. I know that as much as I have done, it never can be enough. But I have a great God who fills every void and supplies every need. And introducing my son to our God Jesus Christ is the best preparation in life I could ever give. Happy Birthday Zion.
