Today, my father in law and I stopped at a McDonalds for lunch. - TopicsExpress

Today, my father in law and I stopped at a McDonalds for lunch. (If I order a McWrap, its only 9 Weight Watchers points). As I was waiting (and waiting and waiting) on my food after I had paid, I started hearing a conversation between the lady to my left, who was ordering her food, and the cashier. After a few moments, its dawned on me that the lady ordering was almost broke, and was trying to figure out what she could buy to eat and get the most for her money. She had less than $3... After she had ordered, she started counting out pennies, dimes, nickels. It was taking a long time, and she was clearly embarrassed. So... I pulled my wallet back out, took out my debit card, and quietly said, maam, would it offend you if I paid for your meal? She looked shocked. She said, seriously?! I merely swiped my card through the credit card machine in front of her, smiled and put my card away. I just checked my account. That act of kindness cost me $2.57. I cannot tell you how good it made me feel to do that. She was so, so appreciative. The cashier had a HUGE smile and made a comment about there still being good people in the world. God has been good to me, to my family. We are not wealthy by any stretch. But, I want to help others whenever I can. It was only after I drove away that I remembered that even though this McDonalds is an hour away from home, this was the SAME McDonalds where I bought two U.S. Flag pins off of a deaf man back in July. I had goosebumps. Just paying it forward...
