Today my heart goes out to the many friends that I have in the Philippines ! Very sincere prayers are sent to our lord asking for mercy for my friends and loved ones in the Philippines. As I know that this hour the rain has started and that the typhoon has landed! God be with you!! I know that most people there are not prepared for such a catastrophic event as this terrible typhoon is and my advice is to prepare yourself with an escape bag that has the essentials in it but if you need to move in a hurry that you will at least have spare clothing and things to protect your life with. Food and water are always central and most people forget water and think they can drink the water that is there since water is all around them but thats not the case because that water is so contaminated that drinking it alone will kill you or at least make you so sick that you cant defend yourself. A small bottle of Clorox bleach will help sterilize your water its the same thing they use in swimming pools to kill the germs in those pools only a few drops in a gallon of water and let it set overnight can save your life. Any kind of dried foods such as if you have meats and your electricity is going to go out cook those meats dry took the moisture out of the needs and turn them into a jerky or hard hardtack meat with plenty of salt and pepper on them to help preserve them but the plastic bags after theyve cooled and put them away in your backpack. Also be sure and put some matches so you can start a fire if need be later cook or keep warm but those in a water tight container. Put a knife in your backpack preferably a nice pocket knife. Put it a small amount of rope or twine in your backpack and if you have put plastic bags in your backpack that you can cover your head with or if there are large trash bags that you can actually make a raincoat out of and always clean socks if youre going to wear shoes but of course youll be wearing sandals. If u have such a thing as a stun gun or taser of course but that in your backpack anything that will help you with self defense because of this. There will be scavengers and the street people will be starving and survival of the fittest is the law of the jungle. Of course store any monies or valuables in a safe place where you can take them with you or any small thing that could be sold 2 create money. You yourself need to start thinking of the small items that you can carry in your getaway bag this is an escape bag one that you will use that if you have to run quickly to get away from the plugs or destroyed buildings or from the gangs Anyone with further advice please add to this list so that people will begin to prepare for the very worst.
