Today my wife and I celebrate our 35th anniversary. We started off at 16 and 18 with the skepticism of every one around us... We were the ones every one said. They dont have a chance yet 35 years later, and after suffering what may have been the hardest year of our lives, we still thrive. Love remains because we would not surrender. Love thrives because we feed it with our words and deeds to each other. Know this above all else. Love is not a choice. Love is a choice. Love is an action, a deed, a set of unchanging principles, a commitment to never give in. To never give up. Love is the next horizon after a long winters night. Love is the coming dawn of hope. No my friends Love is not a feeling. Love is a choice of consequence. When we said I do 35 years ago we had no idea what we would face or what would come. But thru the years we remembered our pledge. We said, for better or worse. We said, till death do us part. We said, forsaking all others. We said, in sickness and health. When I tell people Ive been married for 35 years they always act as if thats something special. I always reply I said life and Im in a no parole state. But the fact is Being married for 35 years is not special. In fact in the history of mankind its normal. After all isnt that what we are all looking for.... The love of our lives.... I found mine 35 years ago and she is sleeping by my side as I write. Everyone have a happy new year. Jerry Figueroa
