Today on our 25th anniversary of being a couple Russell and I took - TopicsExpress

Today on our 25th anniversary of being a couple Russell and I took our vows in a private ceremony held in front of the fireplace which is the heart-th of our home in the Poconos. Not only did Schatzie serve as flower girl, she had our rings in a small linen bag on her collar and served as ring bearer. Our ceremony was according to our wishes, between ourselves and God. ( yes, religious right, God is intrinsic to the lives of the gay community). Our something old was the scarf of Russells great grandmother Mom Mom, the new was our rings, the blue was the color of Russells shirt and borrowed was our friend Beth MCCarthy Millers MTV award ( Moonman) you can see on the mantle. Why a borrowed Moonman? Well, he is silver, and because it is so random, what better represents a silver anniversary and charting a new adventure like marriage? We had a come as you are cake and champagne with neighbors and local friends before heading to the Monroe County Courthouse to receive our sealed marriage license. Yes, we are officially married. And finally, I am taking my partners name. Henceforward I will be Morgan Christopher-Kice. To family and old friends, there is no more Chris. Old dogs and the post thirty crowd can learn new tricks so I have no doubt youll correct yourself when you are tempted to call me by a name that no longer fits. This is a great day for us. A party is being planned for later this season, details to follow. love to you all, Morgan & Russell
