Today our nation mourns the loss of 298 lives on Malaysian Airlines flight #MH17. We particularly grieve for the 27 Australians who died. That a commercial flight could be shot down in this manner is utterly horrific. My heart goes out, particularly, to the family and friends of the Australian victims at this terrible time. Anyone who is worried about friends, relatives or loved ones can call the Department of Foreign Affairs 24 hour consular emergency centre on 1300 555 135. As the Prime Minister said in Parliament today, Australia will be working at the United Nations Security Council for a binding resolution to provide that a full and impartial investigation be conducted into this terrible incident.
