Today please get your folder handy as you read this message. I need for you to do something with it........ La dee dum da....... OK, now that you have your folder, please pull out your degree plan. It is EXTREMELY important that you pay attention to your plan. Im only here to assist you and teach you how to navigate it. Your degree plan is the colored page that shows the recommended order in which to take your classes. I started that page for you when you began at AC, marking your initial courses with a FA for fall or SP for spring, depending on which semester you started here. Since that point, you should be crossing off courses that you complete each semester, and when we visit for greenlighting each semester, you should be using it as a reference along with your suggested course sheet for registration, ESPECIALLY if you decide to take something I did not recommend. The reason Im saying this is that I dont want you to register yourself into a class that you do not need. Each semester after you start classes, I go back through each of your plans to mark what you actually took this semester, which helps me get ready to talk to you in October for our next round of registration. I always find a few people that registered for courses that werent on their plan. This semester is no different. Yikes!! :( Please update your marks in the little boxes to show what you have taken so far. If you are behind in this and cant remember which government you had, stop by with your folder and well do it together. You can pull up your official program evaluation on ACConnect to do this, BUT Ive noticed the registrars office has not processed all of the catalog year changes yet that many of you filled out to update to the 2014 plan. If you use the program evaluation to update your degree plan, make sure the catalog year is correct first. To see the eval click current student, academic profile, program evaluation. You need to be behind the wheel, driving to the end of your degree - not in the passenger seat. :)
