Nick was a natural fit for the Marine Corps and excelled, earning a Purple Heart during his first tour of duty. His uncle remembered his nephew as a loyal, gregarious young man with dark hair and good looks. Nickolas Schiavoni became a hero trying to help another member of his unit after noticing a peculiar car and going over to investigate. The car exploded as he approached the vehicle. We will never forget this sacrifice.
