Today received a call on my cell from the Occupational Therapist at the hospital that Dad is in. They had Dad up but found that he had some difficulty with mobility. She was checking to see that he had the necessary equipment when he got discharged. He will need to get a two wheeled walker. After speaking with her, the hospital Pharmacist got on the line to talk about the medications that dad will be on (not warfarin because Dad is allergic, but another medication that does the same thing). She was going to set Dad up at the clinic in Lethbridge so that he goes to this blood clinic until his blood readings are stable and then they will release him to his family physician. At the end of that conversation, the unit nurse gets on the phone to tell me that Dad is slowly getting better and seems to be a little stronger. There is no set date as to when Dad will be released but I believe that they wont release him until he is a little stronger. When I spoke with Dad tonight he still sounded a little tired but at least I got a laugh from him - that was so nice to hear!
