Today some of the Preschool, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 children were involved in an early childhood science extension day at Bonython Primary. This was the third in our series of extension days this year for the children. Selected Preschool, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 children came together to conduct a range of experiments and expand their scientific knowledge. Throughout the day the children had the opportunity to learn more about chemical sciences through a wide range of hands on experiences. The day got off to an exciting start with the viewing of scenes from ‘Frozen’ and ‘The Croods’ which illustrated chemical science in a child-friendly and engaging way. The workshop concluded with a magnificent experiment in the car park. Mrs DeRooy put some mentos into a soft drink bottle which resulted in a fountain of fizz!
