Today some people believe it to be the 30th day of Shaban. These are people who in last month followed sighting of a distant country. Whereas according to sighting in our area of the world it is only the 29th Day of Shaban. First day of month varies across planet earth and can be on three different days depending on their geographical position on earth. That is why those who follow distant country moonsighting will often be at variance with their own country, as it is now. Since MOST of Queensland is UNITED following moonsighting of our area and country, instead of different country, we are following this view this year to be together with people of our own city, and being together in one city is the Sunnah of Prophet and shown by Ibn Abbas. So today is 29th lunar sighting day here in Australia even though it maybe 30th in distant country. And we will remain united with the local majority of Muslims since there is an overwhelming majority in unity this year alhamdulillah. This is to clarify the issue that causes confusion to some of us at this time.
