Today, something took place that I know had to have pleased and blessed God beyond our comprehension...the annual Womens CHRISTIAN Conference held here in Lindsay at the REC building. No, not just the conference message or the worship songs or even the decisions and life changes is what Im talking about. Im referring to the fact that this was not sponsored by a denomination that the offering money was sent to. It did not have a headliner church with a banner advertising the Baptists, Pentecostals, Methodists, Churches of Christ, or non-denom as the host church. Instead, today is an example of how God intended us to praise and worship him and hear his word from day 1...NOT as a separate body of believers from 10 different churches with 10 different names; but as one body with one name...Christian. Oh, its true we all may believe differently, but heres a bell-ringer...not everybody who goes to your church believes all the same as you do either. With women from every belief sitting within the 4 walls of that building today, GOD was worshiped, praised, loved, appreciated, talked about, and gotten closer to. GOD was the focus, not a man-made doctrine. The Pentecostals raised their hands, the Baptists, Methodists, Churches of Christ all clapped and randomly said amen, and I just imagine some good, old Southern Baptists girls may have even been a little wild and raised their hands as well. Its during these occasions that I feel unity with my CHRISTIAN sisters because no church was highlighted, no denomination was highlighted, only Jesus was highlighted and I just cant help but feel that this was the way God intended church to be....maybe Im wrong, but I find no denomination and no state headquarters mentioned in the Word, but I do find Christians all through it. I can tell you I will be going to next years. I may even ask to sign. But whatever the case, I will be with my Christian sisters worshiping God and thats what its all about...God. Amen!
