Today started with a neurological reawakening for my Denton stroke - TopicsExpress

Today started with a neurological reawakening for my Denton stroke survivor rehabilitation training appointment. The session commenced with recumbent bike CV work of a HIIT form to maintain maximal oxygen uptake whilst ensuring mitochondrial adaptation and incremental improvement... Duration 20 minutes with good use of distraction technique discussing training rationale, 2015 goal setting and why more maintenance work wasnt done during the Xmas break! Single stick martial arts self defence technique was used to encourage better proprioception, accuracy and dynamism in affected limb movements. This was followed by 60 parallel bar wheelchair squats... This was the awakening for 2015. There will be more to follow... A journey into Piccadilly precipitated in visiting the gym once again for a yang day training session. There has been no reprieve my personal training schedule. Pectorals, anterior tibialis, all calf muscle denominations (peroneals, hallucis, gastrocnemius, sole us etc were summoned to perform). An 8 set kettle bell swing of 8 reps followed the usual HIIT exercise bike and hand cycle applications. VO 2 max is now not a laughing matter... Floyd is moving towards the dark side... More heavy bag BEASTING training was concluded with double stick and knife shadow combat training... Narrowly avoided psyching out new gym members as I spotted tthem about as they were about to enter the basement studio... Sauna meditation and military breathing exercises performed in top form today.... Dragon Tiger cruised on fumes through the back streets of central Manchester to get to China Town for relaxation and appropriate nutrition... It is now time for rest and recuperation. Tomorrow is a busy day. Chorlton stroke survivor client due to remarkable ARNI Institute methodology has made spectacular rehabilitative progress having initially being written off by the INRU physiotherapy at Trafford General Hospital. Now it is the turn of the Occupational Therapy department at Manchester Royal Infirmary. An ARNI Institute representative shall be present to support the stroke survivor and family as proceedings ensue. Then later I will train him in Chorlton onwards in the Instigated ARNI Institute method. Lets see if MRI mod cons can help him make a difference because that is what it is all about and surely more than one session a week should be allocated to the task?? More to follow...
