Today starts a month of awareness for Autism. This effects so many families all over the world, including mine. I have had the pleasure to meet so many parents and children that this effects daily. It is a different story for each and every person that i touches. Corbett is a blessing and a joy, with challenges. His desire to overcome and try new things is amazing. His love and compassion for people and events floors me. His stubbornness/meltdowns/obsessions throw me for a loop and test me as a parent....but I wouldnt trade a day of any of it for anything!! He wants to fit in but sometimes gets his feelings hurt bc he doesnt always fit the bill w/ kids bc of his awkwardness or constant chatting about things that arent kid related. He has succeeded tremendously in school and with so many other things that we were told wouldnt be possible. We have been blessed with so many amazing people in our journey that have helped with overcoming so many obstacles. I love him to the moon and back, and know that there are many more exciting accomplishments/times ahead for this sweet, smart, handsome, funny, serious, emotional kid.....and I am honored to have been the chosen one to be his mom, bestest friend, cheerleader, advocate and #1 supporter. I am proud to be referred to as Corbetts Mom!!! ❤️
