Today starts a week of prayer for the military forces of the North American region of the Association of Military Christian Fellowships. The region includes military from Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Granada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Unites States of America. Below is a prayer (slightly modified) written by Cdr (Retd) Theodore W. Edwards of the USN. As this week goes by will you insert the name of someone serving in the military into the appropriate place and pray for them. Bring them before God and ask His blessing, protection and saving grace fall on them. Will you also bring that person name before you prayer group and ask your church to pray this week for their serving and retired military families. “O Mighty God. Help ___ cope with the contradiction of their calling. _____ often lives in separation from those ______ loves so that our nations can live together in peace, and take it for granted. _____ crosses the great expanses of oceans, so others can cross the streets in freedom. ______ rehearses daily in the art of war so that others can enjoy the fruits of peaceful security. Help _____ not doubt themselves or their special calling to serve. Raise _____ up to know fully your faith in them. Send your Holy Spirit to reveal you r desire for them and open them up to hearing and accepting your saving grace. Amen”
