Today, the 26th of January, marks a very important day for us. Today, we stand in solidarity and respect for the thousands of indigenous natives, who see today as a day of mourning and sad memories. Today, our hearts go with those rightful owners of this land, those who until today, and for many decades, had their rights unjustly and oppressively confiscated from them. Today, we remember those who had their lands invaded, their elders killed, their youth imprisoned, their women enslaved and raped, and their children abducted and taken away from them. Today, we commemorate on the massacres of entire tribes, the poisoning of waterholes and flour sacks, the stolen children, the stolen land, the dispossession of thousands of Aboriginal people onto missions and reserves, the deaths in custodies, the rising incarceration of men, women and children, and the attempted destruction of an ancient culture and the endangered languages... all done in the name of #democracy, #freedom, and white-man power. Today, is another witness against the savageness of the West, the brutality if its crimes, the barbarity of its leaders, and the huge fail of democracy. And as if all that is not enough, they continue to undermine our losses, neglect our rights, laugh at our feelings, and celebrate the hundreds and thousands of deaths and losses, as if to rub it more in to the face of these poor, but honourable people. Today, as Muslims, we stand hand in hand, with the indigenous fellas, the rightful owners of this land, as our religion always taught us justice, respect of others rights, and to stand up in the face of oppression. Today, for us is not a day of celebration, but a day of remembrance. Today, is not #AustraliaDay, but indeed, #InvasionDay. #Respect
