Today the Boys from Belarus decided to tackle the daunting peak of Eston Nab, having never climbed a hill in their very flat homeland. Suitably equipped with ropes, crampons, caribiners, Kendal Mint Cake, Lowcocks lemonade and crisps we set off at 10.30 hours reaching the summit at 11.45 hours. There was a fair degree of whinging and moaning on the way up, but I soon recaptured their interest with my two hour lecture on the Bronze Age burial mounds, Iron Age hill fort and the history of Bolkow and Vaughan. I was about to move on to the cinematic style of Craig Pancrack but a desire to get back home to finish the Airfix model and round off the 2014 Swing Ball Championship prevailed. Training for the next Olympics will continue at Splash on Thursday. For those interested in finding out more about Chernobyl Childrens Life Line message me or visit ccll.org.uk
