Today the Education & Cultural Affairs Committee approved the addition of Shawn Moody to serve as a trustee for both the Maine Community College System and the University of Maine System. It was a real pleasure to listen to him speak about how he bootstrapped his way to becoming a successful businessman in the State of Maine, and even more pleasing was the sense I got of him being a true collaborator and extraordinary leader. This is the first time the same person has been approved to serve on both boards simultaneously. This unprecedented move is one that will be great for the Maine Community College System, the University of Maine System and all of their students.
