Today the GEP team is taking part in the 1 day of the Global Future Energy Summit. The crucial event of the day is known to be the Global Leadership Summit (GLS), which featured high-level policy makers and world-renowned experts. They have discussed international policy in the field of environmental protection, energy efficiency growth and increase of renewable energy application in the structure of global energy saving. Running concurrently was an in-depth discussion on how to expand deployment of clean energy technologies developed by EU countries to other parts of the globe. Development of alternative energy projects was touched upon. Among the most authoritative politicians and businessman holding speech on the first day of WFES were: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Masdar and UAE Minister of State, Ségolène Royal, Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy of France, Amos Hochstein, Coordinator for International Energy Affairs of USA Bureau of Energy Resources, Adnan Amin, Director General of UAE International Renewable Energy Agency, and others. It’s important that besides the panel discussions, the WFES’s participants can get acquainted with best technologies and catalyze partnerships. Thus, exhibitions showcased innovations. For example, race solar-powered cars that participated in the first ever 1,200-kilometer Abu Dhabi Solar Challenge.
