Today the cat world, and indeed the whole world, has lost a wonderful person, the lovely Jane Vermeulen, cat breeder and judge from South Africa. I first met Jane at a National Show in Wellington in 2003 which led to an invitation for a judging assignment with TOSCA in 2004, which was my Lunas first show. Jane and Luna, a love match from the start - if Jane could have packed Luna in a bag and taken her home, that would have been the last time I saw her. We kept in contact through the years and then surprised Jane at a show in Christchurch in 2009 - she wasnt expecting to see her favourite girl there, but here was the result - you rarely see a judge actually hugging a cat, but that day Jane couldnt help herself. Head over heart was her decision when she placed Lunas grandson best in show and Luna runner up. She then took a whole series of pictures which I call Janes pink series, probably the best pics ever taken of Luna. Rest in peace my friend, and when you meet up with Luna in heaven, you give her a hug - I know shell be watching out for you.
