Today, the top spellers from each school gathered at the Vail Theatre of the Arts for the annual Vail Spelling Bee. They went several rounds and finally, the top three remained. This years winners are: First place - Daniel Ward - Mesquite, 5th grade, Second place - Haley Harris, Rincon Vista, 7th grade and Third place - Ethan Cnockaert, Cottonwood, 4th grade. They will now have a chance to compete in the Pima County Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 21, at 10:00a.m. at the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind Berger Center for the Performing Arts. This spelling bee will have students from Pima County competing for the spot in the State Spelling Bee in Phoenix later this spring. Congrats to the winners and lets cheer our students onto great V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
