Today, the world is a bit dimmer as it grieves the loss of one of its most passionate, supportive, and productive members. Dr. Jane Myers passed away late last night after her courageous fight against cancer. A Counselor Educator for more than 25 years, she touched the lives of so many students at UNCG and beyond. Her legacy continues in the work of those of us who were fortunate to call her a mentor and friend. No other person has had more influence on my professional life than Dr. Myers and that is not a cliche. It is not a stretch to share that I would not be where I am today without her support, both during and after my academic pursuits. I will greatly miss her thirst for life and sincere caring, no matter the circumstance.
