Today thousands of people will be marching and trying to bring awareness to the plight of elephants and rhinos across the world. Unfortunately Sen Monorom is pretty small and not really the place to have a march down the street, but there is a group marching in Siem Reap Cambodia today, as well as hundred of cities around the world. Having just met my first rhino in Nepal last month and spending many hours watching the beautiful eles here at EVP, I still struggle to understand how they could be used for anything other than just what they are made to do - eat, walk and live in the forest. Here at ELIE and EVP we tend to just get on with the job of providing care to our residents and trying to improve the welfare of the elephants here in Cambodia and leave the advocacy work to many other great organisations that are out there in the world. But this is something that requires all hands on deck. So we wish all those who are marching today luck and if anyone wants to lend their support, please check out the website! Also because we live so far our here in the jungle and cant get to a march, we would love to see some of the action.
