Today, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and to give back with a bang to the community of the DTES, we had a special event take place! We hosted a dog jacket/sweater give away but had many extras there for the pets and their people. There are now many dogs who are feeling a little warmer in this weather, with tummies that are full! We must extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated and participated in making this event a huge success, please bare with us, this list is long (we have great supporters); Kathryn for making the stew for the dogs, it was a huge success, and dishing it out Keith, Stephanie & Lauren - for sorting and loading supplies and handing them out Shauna - for picking up supplies, storing them and helping size dog jackets Christa - for making 100 brown bag lunches and handing out supplies Kim - for coming out to help size dog jackets Shawna (Josiahs Mom) - for helping with crowd control and handing out supplies For the sweet older gentleman who helped plate up the cake For the gentleman that helped to sort the socks To Oppenheimer Park - DTES Communities Back Yard for allowing us to utilize the center that kept us warm on this chilly day AND to Walks N Wags Pet First Aid and RC Pet Products for the donation of pet first aid kits Bosleys in New Westminster & Bosleys Ironwood for the pet food samples Rollover for the dog treats Earth Rated for the poop bags, dispensers, bandanas and pens Starbucks on 64th & Granville for the coffee Every single person who donated a dog jacket/sweater, leash, collar or any other pet supplies and the people that donated to the people supplies (socks, mittens, toques, ball caps, scarves) THANK YOU ALL!!!
