Today was a bittersweet day of sorts. As many of you know, my wife and I are moving into a new house this weekend. We appreciate the prayers of so many of you for the strength needed to clear all the remaining hurdles to beat the clock for an August 30 closing. It has been nothing short of a miracle from God that now the path has been cleared for us to have our closing. We still would appreciate your prayers as we wait for our old house to sell. Yet, in the midst of all of our hustling and bustling this last few days, we were reminded of a very important anniversary this afternoon. A very dear friend of ours happens to share the same birthday of our daughter Sara, who passed away in December of 1997. Sara would have been 16 years old today. With all of our busyness, we had completely forgotten that today was her birthday. I had to take a few minutes this afternoon to pull myself together. Sara passed away while we were in the midst of having this house constructed. We had not moved in yet when she died. We moved in February of 1998 and since that time, the Lord has truly blessed us. We love our three boys, all three a gift from God and a sign of his goodness. This house is packed full of love and memories, and we are looking forward to creating even more beautiful memories in our new residence. Thank you Lord for taking care of us all this time.
