Today was a good day! We had some help from the main police group - TopicsExpress

Today was a good day! We had some help from the main police group in the capital city of Santo Domingo who assured us that this will be resolved, and then came-up with some concrete plans to accomplish this! A couple of high ranking officials went with me to my appointment and that went very well this afternoon. The tide has turned here and we appear to be heading in the right direction to resolution of this problem. Praise the Lord! The situation appears to be cooling-off in Mucha Agua as the stress point of the day was a bus-load full of people from Mucha Agua that were paid to come and cause trouble for CDMM in front of the Judge in San Cristobal the province capital where Mucha Agua is located. The group came to protest but found the Judge interested in talking with them about the situation. The conversation moved in the direction of what the mission has accomplished there in the area and folks remembered we fixed their teeth, and the glasses they are wearing were given to them by clinics the mission offered, many recalled the VBS their children were a part of, concerts that were such a blessing, and people they have befriended through the mission, diseases cured with our medicine, or that Bible they have that they love so much, movie nights, Cindys cakes...good memories of great things. Many began to worry what would happen to them if we actually left town...who would help them then? The tide turned...by the end of this discussion there were more in our favor than there still against us...Your prayers are working! God is good even in times of struggle there is sunshine, and a light at the end of the tunnel. The power of positive thinking is seeing the great possibility, hope, and knowing that our Lord will overcome all these challenges. The high ranking officers that are now helping us are Christians, and one of them is an evangelical preacher in a church in the capital. They are treating us with brotherly love and concern, I have been very impressed by their professionalism. We have great hopes that the coming days will bring more help and relief from these trials. As a full and complete investigation begins to unfold here about this struggle we are convinced that the mission will be victorious in the end, and public opinion will improve greatly as the perpetrators of this crime are submitted to the justice system here. Please continue to pray. We are praying we can return to our home in a few days from now Lord willing. Blessings! Gary
