Today was a good day for me. More and more I am experiencing sleepless or near sleepless nights for no really discernible reasons. Tuesday was one and Thursday was only a little better so sleep came after daylight this morning. I woke up after six hours of pretty good and sound sleep and got with one of my best friends late this afternoon and went to Snyder Farms Country Buffet over in Sophia near Randleman and enjoyed some good homestyle fried fish and chicken with country veggies. Unless there is a big change in next weeks time-frames this will be my Thanksgiving dinner with this friend and we sure enjoyed our short trek through the Randolph County and the great food and company along with the friends weve made at Snyders. I got home and flipped on Channel 2 to see Hawaii 50 and enjoy the contribution from Carrol Bernette. The following lyrics are from a song by Irving Berlin that Carrol sang near the end of the show. I hadnt heard this song in years and truthfully had sort of forgotten it. It was sung as a goodbye from Carrol to her family after the discovery of a terminal illness. As I listened to this I also realized how it could be the inventory of many of us at this Thanksgiving time of year. So here it is as my inventory to share with my friends.
