Today was a good day on many fronts… first off the fix on the Frankenvolvo was a simple hose. Fast and not too expensive. Positive responses on the freelance front. Have I told you how awesome my wife is! We dont have cable or local TV at our apartment. My roommates all get their entertainment off the inter tubes. Ive been watching two docu-series with Ewan McGregor and his buddy Charley - The first series they ride their motorcycles around the world from London East to NYC. The other series the rode from the Northern tip of Scotland to Cape Town South Africa. Both are fascinating in their own right. But they talk a lot about leaving their kids for months at a time. Its been good to see that what Im going through other have done and survived. Unlike them I get to talk to Alex and Leslie every day and we have FaceTime which is awesome. A few other observations… many here have the little lap dogs and they take them everywhere. Ive seen them in a bar, at the Radio Shack. Places wed never take pets back East unless they were service dogs. Amazing. Also, after Saturdays rain I have the layer of what looks like black soot on Yoda. Im told thats the smog/pollution that came out of the air with the rain. YUCK. My roommates are an interesting bunch. One stays up all night and sleeps all day (cuz he wants to). The guy I share a room/bathroom with had such a bad previous roommate experience that he has apologized to me because he cant afford to buy the expensive TP that I buy. The third is an actor paying the bills bar tending. I rarely see him. All good guys but an eclectic mix. Good night for now.
