Today was a great day to be a part of this awesome organization. It is amazing to me what donors will do to save cats. Sometimes those of us that rescue and foster on a daily basis only see glimpses of the hard times cats and kittens fall into. It starts to make you hard and sometimes you feel like your not making a difference. There are so many cats needing a forever home, medical attention and we always need more fosters. Today was special as we had a Florida donor step forward and volunteer to transport on their personal jet plane 18 kittens and 3 cats (2 were moms). There are so many high kill shelters out there and the majority in Florida are high kill. All of these kittens and cats were rescued hours before time of euthanasia. We feel very proud to be a part of Forever Home Feline Ranch as we are a cat Sanctuary. Our three fold mission is to provide every cat in need a forever home, be a sanctuary where cats will have a second chance to live a full life in a no-cage, no-kill environment, and to lead the effort in making Central Illinois a no-kill community by ending euthanasia as a method of controlling feline population. We spend a lot of time working with other rescues pulling cats/ kittens that are days and even hours away from being euthanized. This year we have pulled and transported cats from many places: local animal control, Morgan county animal control, Paws in Jacksonville, Transports from Ohio, and transports from Florida, as well as owner relinquished cats and kittens. We are so appreciative of everything our volunteers and donors do big or small it just goes to show that together WE can make a difference to a life of a cat. They all deserve a second chance.
