Today was a milestone or a right of passage for me as I said goodbye to man who was a giant for me. Too young to date (especially an older man such as he)...yet he seemed to show up for anything and everything ...I wanted to do. Although I thought I knew how to ride a horse....he really thought me how to ride a horse...first teaching me to rough ride ...often instructing me as I would ride in front of him. Never inappropriate in any way...always a gentleman. Later, when he married, his wife and I became fast friends. Life took its course ...We kept in touch. The last time I heard from him was two years ago...just before I journeyed to Brazil where he wanted me to find a specific belt buckle. Our friendship has been the never ending story....till today as he was laid to rest in a small country graveyard. Ride on to glory on a horses winged feet my friend.
