Today was a rough and tiring day. Kennedy is cranky and starving. She has not had any food since Friday afternoon before she got sick. It has been almost 36 hours since she has had any food or water!! Because of the blood pressure meds that she is on the doctors have restricted her from eating. The medications takes the blood from her stomach and filters it to other parts of her body in order to keep her blood pressure up so if she were to eat it could mess up her intestines and her stomach. So to tell a 2 year old that she cant eat when she so bad wants to was not fun. She cried off and on for a couple of hours because she has been so hungry it was very heartbreaking to watch today. I felt so bad and tried to do anything to distract her and take her mind off of food. It took some convincing but I was able to get the doctors to wean her off the medication faster so that she can eat. So far her blood pressure has been stable so hopefully by tomorrow morning she can finally eat and I dont have to torture my baby girl any more!! Not sure how much more of that I can take. More results came back from her blood cultures and there for sure is an infection and its in her central line. So they are giving aggressive antibiotics and we think that we have found the right type of antibiotics to get rid of the infection. This infection has also delayed her 2nd cycle of immune therapy she was suppose to start tomorrow (Monday) but we may have to wait another week depending on how long it takes to get rid of the infection. Please keep Kennedy in your prayers that the infection will be gone soon and we can continue with her treatment. I AM KENNEDY HEAR ME ROAR!
