Today was a rough day at work. I once got a car that I kept struggling to get into 5th gear until I realized that it only had 4 gears. It only took 10 miles to figure that out and then I felt really bloody stupid. It kind of felt like that today; I wondered if things were going so crazy because I was doing it all wrong. It was chaos. Everything I tried came off like spraying lighter fluid on a kitchen fire and then trying to put it out with water [FYI, dont ever do that]. At one point I declared that I was in desperate need of a stiff drink, a hug or a bag full of skittles [I dont actually drink and nobody offered me a hug, but I did get myself a bag of Skittles on the way home. Could still use the hug, especially now that the candy is gone]. Despite that, I cant wait to get back at it in the morning. Its a good sign that youve found the job that you were born to do when you have a wonker of a day and youre still looking forward to the next one. It either means youve discovered your calling or youre just plain lost the plot...or both.
