Today was a very good day for working. Through talking about New Iberia I had a flash back and had to come and post this partial file. There is more to this file but I wanted to share this history of what happened here in New Iberia when a Black Welding School tried to open and had been authorized where the Parish Courthouse grounds are. Racial tension was high in New Iberia during the week of May 15, 1944 when a dozen African Americans including the entire leadership of the NAACP were expelled. The reason I am posting these documents is so that the Community and residents will know the history of the place we call home and how we should all work together in creating a just and equal society for the youth. Racism must end and Love and mutual respect for differences must be embraced. ENJOY THE READ AND I WILL BE POSTING MORE IN THE FUTURE. DO SHARE WITH YOUR KIDS BECAUSE THIS is TRUE HISTORY THAT IS NOT TAUGHT IN THE SCHOOLS. pages 12 and 13 is out of order. I only posted pages that talks about New Iberia. This is from an accurate file and account of the incidents in New Iberia according to the legal reports.
