Today was a wonderful day...with the rain, sleet, and freezing temperatures...our wonderful team of over 100 volunteers of all ages were able to serve 324 hot meals to families in need in Shockoe Bottom!! We also gave away over 154 articles of clothing. But my favorite part of the day was watching our volunteers sit with those served and engage in regular conversations and show compassion by serving them as if they were dining at Mortons!! I loved the compassion and customer service each person received! Today, they were in the VIP section. I want to thank each of you for serving, cooking, cutting, bagging, driving out to deliver, standing in the rain, cleaning, making cash donations, and offering hope and compassion to those in need...those that we call friends. Not only did we feed people, but we also acted as a warming station for the day!!! God Bless You All!! It could not be done without you and your willing hearts!!!
