Today was another good day, thank God!! He is resting very comfortably and not getting as easily agitated. The oxygen on his ECMO machine is down to 70 instead of 100 and hes doing wonderful with it. They are hearing more breath sounds in his lungs and the pockets around his lungs are starting to open back up! His ventilator numbers are increasing each day, they are between 30-40 and staying there this is a first, we need it to continue! They havent had to give him any blood in 2 days, which is wonderful, he was receiving blood numerous times a day before. Today is day 21 of antibiotics for the strep in his bloodstream, which means no more hes done with them, woohoo! He is officially infection free! Each day is baby steps of improvement but were making them in the right direction! I cant believe its been 22 days in the hospital already...its going by so fast and at the same time so slow. Were just so thankful were still here fighting! People seeing him for the first time probably think were crazy saying how good he looks, but if you wouldve seen him 3 weeks ago youd understand, he looks amazing! We just cant wait until he is off ECMO with no tubes in him, or a ventilator, chest closed, and can wake up and talk to us! We pray that day isnt that far off! Keep lifting him up in prayer, it really is amazing how powerful it is!
