Today was moms biopsy. The oncologist prepared us by saying there was a mass on her right lung, and we should brace ourselves as there is a good chance it could be malignant lung cancer. Needless to say, the last week hasnt been exactly upbeat. The news is, as they say, cautiously optimistic. He couldnt do the biopsy today -- because he couldnt find a tumor. The Dr. warned us there is still a mass there, and the results are ambiguous. It requires monitoring in another few months to see if it has grown. His bedside manner was still a little downbeat, but I realize thats his job - to prepare you for the worst. But it wasnt the seething mass of Stage 4 cancer we were afraid of. He did some sort of wash & clean of the lung area while he was down there with the hose, and left it at that. Were taking this as a win. Like Dad says At our age, were not buying green bananas anymore. A 3 - 6 month reprive is great, and well take it one step at a time. So no Heisenberg Moment for Mumsie. Which is great. Cause frankly, she flunked chemistry in school and is too damn old to start cooking meth. :D :D :D
