Today was one of those days where we burned up a lot of miles and got nowhere. Why?, you ask. Heres the thing, if we go way down a long private driveway and basically have other reason to be there and we ask that person if they have a chained dog, they are going to know who reported it. We dont knock on doors where we cant even see a dog. Its just not how we do things. But, if we are out and about and see a chained or penned dog, we take pictures and stop. My motto is: If you are going to chain or pen your dog for the whole world to see, I have the right to take pictures, and we do, if you are not trespassing, you can take pictures. You may have someone chasing after you, but you are allowed to do it. :) What do we do when we have days like this? We go to Winchester! Theres always dogs to see there, even if we dont have a list. Remember Rocky, he is chained next door to where we built a fence several months ago. We tried to help him then, but to no avail. Today we stopped by and I had another talk with them, They agreed to let us neuter him and build him a fence, but they may change their mind by the time I make the appointment. People do that all the time. Mostly (men) who dont want to neuter their dogs. I always tell these men that we will neuter THEM for free as well. Haha. Seriously, the excuses we hear for not wanting to neuter. We also had another person asking for us to neuter their little dog that has no business living outside anyway. Poor little Hulk, I ask if they would surrender, but no, its a childs dog. But the child is allergic to the dog so the dog pays the price for this rationale. Its hard to find volunteers to go on outings because they say they will go off on these people, I however, like outings the best, we do get to love on these lonely dogs for just a bit and it makes them happy, and me too. A few dogs we met on our travels today.
