Today was pretty long, but over all it went pretty well! All four of us woke up and got ready to go. We made it to Childrens on time for a 10:40 lab visit, but we were not seen until probably around 12! I guess the flu was going around like crazy!! We saw our nurse briefly and she said dont hug, touch, or even look at any one not those words exactly... but just be really careful and use purell A LOT! But to make up for all of the waiting we had to do in the waiting room, her nurse brought back a Russell Wilson Seahawks jersey for Lauren!!!! I guess a family donated a whole wagon full of Seahawks gear! The we finally sat down with her nurse and Laurens numbers are getting so much better!!! Like her ANC, back to 900! So yay for that! She also finally go the flu shot! She got Lauren on a new med to help with her twitching at night and will hopefully in the long run help with some of the nerve damage! She also checked out her ear and that is slowly getting better, she just has a build up of wax in there. Then we all went back to the same infusion clinic where she got her platelets and blood transfusions, and we got started on her first round of maintenance chemo! All went well there, she received two different types of chemo and both took about an hour and a half, and with each visit they will speed up the infusion rates. But Lauren was pretty knocked out so she didnt mind much. While she was asleep the nutritionist came in to chat and said that Lauren in now 7 pounds under the threshold of where they are comfortable with her weight. She had actually said that Lauren is malnourished, so that was a little scary, but understandable considering how little she has been eating. So we are going to try at it again to fight off this feeding tube!!! On our way back home Lauren had another bag of her favorite apples! She just LOVES those! And we also stopped at Central for a piece of pizza and some root beer for Lauren! She finished half of the pizza and almost all of the soda! So that was good! Once we got home we snuggled with Abby for a little while and then watched some of Laurens youtube videos! Looking forward to a relaxing day tomorrow!
