Today was pretty low-key and quiet (no therapy this morning and a nice OT session this afternoon) until Ben and Paige stopped by with BIG news: they are engaged! They really wanted to come tell John because many, many years ago (back when they were about 6-8 years old) Ben and John had made a pact that they would ask each others permission before they got engaged (I think they wanted to protect each other from the danger of an imprudent marriage). Well, obviously, for many reasons (only one of which was the accident!) that wasnt going to happen, but Ben still wanted to honor the spirit of their agreement by making sure John was one of the first to know. Paige is one of Johns caregivers, so we are sure he approves! We are so happy for them and Im really grateful that they stopped by to share this news with John.
