Today was shave day for Johnny. This task took about an hour with him sitting on a stool, me holding the drain bulb & tube, but we got it done. He has rested in the recliner most of the day and is now finishing some mash potatoes with beef stew gravy, carrots, and butterbeans. This small plate of food took him about 45 minutes to get down, but he got it done. Next is to take meds, get a shower, and then bed for more rest. Tomorrow is his post op check-up. We hope that the drain tube can be removed and he will get a good report. Mama ate with us tonight and is hobbling with her new air cast to keep her ankle straight. She just called saying that the Manor had called and said Daddy fell as he was leaving his dinner meal, but that he was ok. He told the lady that hed eaten too much ice cream! Glad for his dry wit to keep us all smiling and thankful that all patients seem to be doing ok.
