Today was the day my Sam got to have his first flying lesson in a Cessna. This was his most favorite Christmas present. He had a wonderful time and the instructor said he handled everything great. While he was taking his first lesson, a pilot asked Mary Grace, Katie and myself to go up in a plane. Grandparents (my parents) came to watch. He had already given all five of us a bit of a field trip while we were waiting on Sams instructor. This was all out of the kindness of his heart. We got to fly above our neighborhood and see our house, Pelham High School, and were pointed out several things... the Galleria, tank farm... Although I am not allowed to drive a car at this time, he let me steer the plane for a couple of minutes. Or was amazing. What was supposed to be Sams Christmas present turned into a present for ALL of us! In the end, Sam enjoyed every minute of his flight and logged his first 1/2 hour. Good day!
