Today was the last day for a thoughtful, calm, and observant show of photographs at Artspring. I had every intention of getting there and am so glad I made it. Greg Klassen’s exhibit “Distractions” was filled with patience and observation. His photographs depicted the gentle, simple and emotional roadside memorials that people have created for their loved ones. Klassen gives no judgment or opinion, just a softness of heart. His camera is silent. The large-size format of the images allows the viewer to stand back and see the whole picture, and so think twice about his or her immediate emotional response.
