Today was the opening day of the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Ive bartended here for 8 years. This spring I purchased a Bakery and Chocolate Shop! My new biz is called: The Cottage Bakery & Sweet Spot. We saw 10,000 people here today. I have a crew of 15 and they worked their asses off. Ive also purchased a Bakery and Crepe Shop at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. So Ill be splitting my time between the 2 states. NC from May thru Dec 1, and AZ all winter. How cool is that? The previous owners retired will into their late 70s. God willing....I will have a VERY GOOD income well into my old age. I have been blessed with a wonderful opportunity. For anyone thinking about something like this (This is a nod for you Uncle Chris and your wonderful BBQ) getting into a biz like this can be an incredible source of revenue. Based on the numbers from past years, I will make MORE in 16 weekends (8 in NC and 8 in AZ) than I currently earn working five days a week, year round. I put every dime Ive ever saved in my life into this endeavor, and I pray for good weather and large crowds. Today was exhausting and Im crazy tired, but it ended well and Im so thankful for the good things I have been given. I lost both parents recently and have struggled with the outcome of this, but Im so HAPPY with this new opportunity. I dont post much on FB, but this deserves a nod!!!!
