Today wasnt as much as a benchmark day as originally thought. Met - TopicsExpress

Today wasnt as much as a benchmark day as originally thought. Met with radiology this morning. We reviewed my head and neck MRIs from September 23, which was 5 days after radiation treatments ended. These MRIs were done that day as I was set to have my first IV infusion treatment but was in some pain and feeling terrible. In the end they increased my steroids and have been tapering them off since. Radiologys opinion based on the September 23 MRIs is the lesions were beginning to show signs the radiation treatments were doing their job. Also, based on how Ive been feeling since radiation treatments ended (no pain, headaches, vision problems, etc), the conclusion today was to hold off on another MRI until mid-October (about another 30 days). So, though we dont have definitive information to work with (a current MRI), we feel good about todays appointment with radiology. Todays IV infusion treatment went well. Lab work is staying consistent and oncology doctor seems pleased with how Im progressing. Again, our benchmark for the IV infusions will likely be December when follow-up scans of my chest and abdomen will be done. God bless you all for your prayers and words of support and encouragement. They help us through each and every day!
