Today we are highlighting several 2014 events that are in the books, as they say. Traill County Relay for Life - Hatton - was held at the Hatton City Park Baseball Field, on June 6th. The event had 14 teams and 201 participants registered. The event tri-chairs were Doug Meier, Nancy Johnson and Lorrie Aamold. Follow them on Facebook at Traill County Relay for Life . Their Staff Partner is Shannon Bacon. From Shannon: 2014 was Hatton’s first time hosting the Relay For Life of Traill County, but you never would have guessed it. The committee members, many of them new to Relay, took on this cause with great passion and skill. The community quickly rallied around the important cause of fighting cancer, far surpassing their original fundraising goal. Local businesses provided generous sponsorships, and teams planned creative and successful fundraisers throughout the year. A combination of returning teams from surrounding communities and first-year teams from Hatton made this event a huge success. The Relay, which included a variety of creative activities including a test-drive fundraiser with Ford, was highly festive and meaningful throughout the night. Traill County should be very proud of their contributions to the fight against cancer!
