Today we are launching an emergency appeal for funds to help provide care and support for baby elephants orphaned by ivory poachers. Over the past three years, more than 60,000 elephants have been killed in Africa, far exceeding the number of elephants being born. Today, an African elephant is killed every 30 minutes for its ivory leaving behind devastated herds and vulnerable baby orphans. Vital to the survival of their species these babies cannot be left to die. The incredible team that DSWF supports at Game Rangers International rescue and care for these orphans until they are old enough and strong enough to return to the wild - a ten year journey that requires commitment and funding. But, as the ivory crisis deepens and more orphans require care the teams resources are being stretched to the limit. Please help us honour the commitment that we have made to save these elephants. £20 feeds a baby elephant for a week £30 provides a week of 24 hour care £50 pays for emergency medical supplies £150 funds a keepers salary for a month We urgently need your help. Please give what ever you can. You can donate online at davidshepherd.org Or call us on 01483 272323 Thank you.
