Today we celebrate 3 years in our current location. As I look around, I think how did I get here? For this location, thanks to Russell Ybarra for the opportunity and assistance to do business in this beautiful building. Also to the loyal staff that have been a part of the business for so long. And of course you, our loyal clientele for your continued support. Another man came to mind recently as I pondered the “How I got here” thought. His name is Bob Wheeler. If you care to know why read on. If not, thank you all for your support! Bob Wheeler hired me when I was about 18 years old. He owned the shop where I got my hair cut growing up, and is an excellent barber. This was my first good barbering job. Bob not only tolerated my teenage antics, he taught me how to cut hair, treat clients, operate a shop correctly, etc. He was my mentor. I didn’t realize at the time the lessons I was learning or how they would serve me later. I recently spoke with Bob for the first time since I left that shop 40+ years ago. Now 83 years old, he still cuts hair in Tyler, TX 2 days a week. By the way, after my research found his number, I called at 7:30 AM. His wife said I would have to call back later because he got up at 5:30 AM and was at the gym working out. Thank you Bob Wheeler! I’ve not forgotten. Lynn
