Today we celebrate music in all its forms! The Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is an annual music festival that takes place on June 21 every year in more than 104 countries and 514 cities around the world. It is a worldwide phenomenon! The first World Music Day was held in France in 1982 after a suggestion made by American musician Joel Cohen in 1976 to celebrate the beginning of the summer solstice with an all-night music celebration in France. This is an occasion when many free concerts are organized, making all genres of music accessible to the public and encourages all musicians, both professional and amateurs, to “Make Music”.
